THE DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Established in 1999, the Department of Information Technology offers accredited B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. programs, emphasizing an outcome-based teaching-learning process. Our curriculum, designed with industry participation, ensures our students are well-prepared for the workforce. With state-of-the-art laboratories, ICT-enabled classrooms, and a robust Learning Management System, we provide a modern and comprehensive educational experience.

The Society of Information Technologists from the Department of Information Technology hosted ICON 2k24, a national level technical symposium on the 8th of February 2024. Students from various colleges and universities participated in a variety of technical and non-technical events.

Society Of Information Technologists
The Department of Information Technology conducted the inaugural function of Society of Information Technologists for the academic year 2023-2024 on 14th September 2023. It was inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Hakim, Founder and CEO of ABR Systems Private Limited. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Sharmila Sankar, Dean of the School of Computer, Information and Mathematical Sciences, and Dr. N. Prakash, Head of the IT Department.

The IT Trailblazers club was officially inaugurated on 14th September 2023 by Mr. Abdul Hakim, Founder and CEO of ABR Systems Private Limited. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Sharmila Sankar, Dean of the School of Computer, Information and Mathematical Sciences, and Dr. N. Prakash, Head of the IT Department. Faculty coordinators of the IT Trailblazers club and student coordinators were also in attendance, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for the club.
IBM
IBM Boot Camp
The Department of Information Technology in association with Edunet Foundation and IBM successfully conducted 4-days “IBM Project Based Boot Camp on Cloud and AI Technologies” from 12.3.24 to 16.3.24. The second, third and final year students of B.Tech(IT) attended the bootcamp and were given hands-on experience in IBM industry tools pertaining to Cloud, Data science and Artificial Intelligence. The IBM Skills Build Programme was coordinated by Dr. N. Prakash, Professor & Head/IT and Dr. G. Kavitha, Professor & Director/CITL.
