Boot to Root workshop at ICON 2k24
The IT Trailblazers club conducted the "Boot to Root" workshop on February 8th, 2024, as part of ICON 2k24, a national-level technical symposium. The workshop included four rounds: a warm-up session on Google dorks, a recon round on identifying targets and vulnerabilities, an XSS game, and the final "Collateral Damage" round. The event provided a platform for participants to enhance their cybersecurity skills. Students from various colleges participated in the workshop and learnt a lot on the topic. By the end of it, they had a better understanding of how to identify and mitigate threats - on the web.
Industrial visit to NRSC-ISRO
On April 17 2024, 53 students from II year, B. Tech IT and 5 students from M. Tech IT along with two faculty members – Mr. Mohammed Wajid Khan and Ms. Sonya – had the privilege of embarking on an educational and insightful industrial visit to NRSC ISRO, Hyderabad. It was a wonderful opportunity to explore NRSC in Hyderabad managing satellite data acquisition and processing, with a reception station in Shadnagar. It collaborates on remote sensing projects, offers aerial services, and operates Regional Remote Sensing Centres (RRSCs) for regional tasks and training programs.
IBM Boot Camp
The Department of IT in association with Edunet Foundation and IBM successfully conducted 4-days "IBM Project Based Boot Camp on Cloud and AI Technologies" from 12.3.24 to 16.3.24. The 2nd, 3rd and final year students of B.Tech(IT) attended the bootcamp and were given hands-on experience in IBM industry tools pertaining to Cloud, Data science and Artificial Intelligence. The IBM Skills Build Programme was coordinated by Dr. N. Prakash, Professor & Head/IT and Dr. G. Kavitha, Professor & Director/CITL. The students received professionally recognized badges and certificates.
Cybersecurity and Ethical Hacking Workshop
The Department of Information Technology hosted a two-day hands-on workshop on "Cybersecurity and Ethical Hacking" on March 31 and April 1, 2023. The workshop was led by renowned cybersecurity expert Ajinkya Lohakare (CTO and founder of Ditto Security, TedX and Josh talk speaker) and covered a wide range of topics designed to enhance participants' skills in protecting and defending against cyber threats. Students from various departments attended the workshop and gained insights on footprints and reconnaissance and about penetration testing and ethical hacking.
Workshop on Application of AI and ML in the Industry
The Department of Information Technology, organized a hands-on training on "Application of AI and ML in the Industry" on 18th October 2022 for 3rd year B. Tech IT students. The Resource Person of the workshop was Mr. Govind Kumar, Vice president, Zebpay (Crypto/ Blockchain Exchange). A total of 60 participants (3rd year B. Tech IT students and faculty members) attended the workshop. Mr. Govind Kumar discussed Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Chat bots, Adaptive Intelligence, Algorithm Trading, and ML.
Webinar on The importance of Ethical Hacking
The Department of IT organized an online Webinar on "The importance of Ethical Hacking" on 31.08.2021 through Zoom meeting. The Resource Person of the webinar was Mr. Manoj Kashyap, Co-founder & Technical Head, Ethical Byte. A total of 270 participants attended the webinar. Mr. Manoj Kashayap discussed various kinds of hardware attacks, attacks on IOT devices and the awareness required for securing our Smartphone in the day-to-day activities. It was very exciting for the participants to have interactions with the resource person and they appreciated the session in feedback.
Five Day Online STTP on Artificial Intelligence and its Impact on Industry 4.0
A Five Day Online Short Term Training Programme on Artificial Intelligence and its Impact on Industry 4.0 (Technologies and Solution Methodologies for Real-world Scenarios) 26.04.2021 to 30.04.2021 was organized by School of Computer, Information and Mathematical Sciences, in association with Computer Society of India (CSI) and ICT Academy, through Zoom platform. With various key speakers from different fields, participants from various institutions and organizations gained knowledge on the different subject matters.
Webinar on Prag Robotics
The School of Computer, Information and Mathematical Sciences organized a Webinar on "Prag Robotics" for the final year B.Tech. (IT & CSE) students on 01.04.2021 through Google Meet. The Resource Person for the webinar was Mr. Kola Naveen, Robotics & A.I. Architect, Prag Robotics, Chennai. The main objective of the webinar was to impart knowledge in the field of AI, Machine Learning and Robotics. The webinar provided the participants with a deep understanding of industrial robotics & service robotics and the implementation of the same in the final year project.
FDP on Agile Software Development
The Department of IT, organized a five days online FDP on "Agile Software Development – An Industry Perspective" during 25-29 June 2020. The objective of the FDP was to inculcate the latest industry practices in Software Development to the participants from Institute and Industry. All the resource persons who handled the sessions were from leading IT industries, having outstanding experience in the domain. The participants gave positive feedback about all the sessions and showed their willingness to attend any future events by these resource persons.
Industrial visit to Bioscience Research Foundation(BRF)
An Industrial visit was organized to the Bioscience Research Foundation (BRF), by the Department of Information Technology for III year B.Tech & II year M.Tech IT students (around 40) to know about the opportunities for IT engineers in the Biotechnology domain on 26.09.2019. Bioscience Research Foundation (BRF) is an integrated discovery and developing Contract Research Organization (CRO). The students visited each department and were explained about the importance and pros and cons of each test.
Seminar on Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality
Department of Information Technology organized a seminar on "Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality" on 31st January 2019. The resource person was Mr. Brijesh Kumar Tippi, R&D Head, Image Infotainment Ltd., having 12+ years of experience in Game Programming and Mobile Android Application. He is a post graduate in MCA from Osimania University, Hyderabad. The students from II year B.Tech.IT, Students from III year B.Tech IT and faculty members of IT Department attended the seminar and gained insights on AR, VR and their practical applications in real time.
